Anyone can drop stones on a patch of dirt. A patio that's still level and tight ten winters from now is a different conversation. Here's where we put the work in.
Most patio failures are base failures, and base failures start with a sloppy dig. We excavate to the right depth for your soil type, grade the subgrade so it falls away from the house, and clear out the organics that cause settling down the road. The visible part of the patio is the easy part — what's underneath is where it lives or dies.
Calgary doesn't drain itself. Every patio we build is planned around where the water needs to end up — away from foundations, away from low points, and not into your neighbour's yard. Slope is calculated before we lay the first stone, not adjusted after the fact when puddles show up.
The base is engineered, not just dumped. Crushed gravel installed in lifts and compacted between each pass, taken to the depth your specific project actually needs — not a shortcut “four inches and call it good.” Compaction is what stops the heaving when winter hits.
You're hiring me — not a crew that rotates between five jobs a day. I'm there from the excavator to the final sweep. One point of contact, one set of standards, one person responsible if anything ever needs a callback.
The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. We walk the site, talk through what you actually want, and the price reflects the real work — not a lowball figure that grows once the digging starts.

Our craft
Anyone can lay a rectangle. The patios that turn heads have curves, inlays, contrasting borders, and stones cut to fit features in the yard. After fifteen years, this is the part of the job I actually look forward to — and it's what separates a patio from a feature.
Curved edges, circular fire pit surrounds, organic-shaped patios that follow the contours of your yard. Cut clean on-site, not forced into a rigid grid.
Two-tone borders, accent strips, soldier courses, banding. Small touches that frame the space and make it look intentional instead of stock.
Trees, drains, AC units, downspouts, gas lines — we cut the stones around whatever the yard throws at us. No awkward gaps, no shifting features to “make it easier.”
Herringbone, basket weave, running bond, custom random — picked to suit the size of the space and the style of the home, not just whatever's fastest to lay.

Front entry walks, side-yard paths, garden routes. Designed to drain properly and handle Calgary winters without heaving or settling.
We can take care of minor landscaping such as sod, mulch, or decorative rock to wrap up the area around your new patio. Mention it when you request a quote and we'll roll it into the project.

I've worked in landscaping for over fifteen years across a range of disciplines — but patios are the part I genuinely enjoy the most, and what I've focused on. Born and raised in Calgary, so I know what this soil does, what these winters do, and what makes a build last out here.
